Senior Payroll Coordinator / Payroll Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Coordinator / Payroll Specialist for an established company in West Tulsa. This is a great opportunity for a payroll professional who is comfortable independently processing payroll, handling multi-state requirements, and working with payroll accounting and reconciliations. This position is expected to be temp-to-hire, with the possibility of direct hire for a highly qualified candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Process and review weekly and biweekly payrolls
• Review employee time, earnings, deductions, taxes, bonuses, commissions, new hires, and terminations
• Process and maintain wage garnishments
• Reconcile payroll registers, deductions, bank activity, and general ledger accounts
• Prepare payroll journal entries, accruals, and clearing account reconciliations
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies
• Assist with 401(k), PTO, commission, and benefit deduction reconciliations
• Support month-end close, payroll audits, and year-end processing
• Respond to employee payroll questions and maintain confidential payroll records
• Assist with payroll reporting, system testing, and process improvements

Requirements:

• 35+ years of payroll experience
• Experience independently processing payroll for 150+ employees
• Multi-state payroll experience
• Experience processing wage garnishments
• Knowledge of payroll accounting, journal entries, GL reconciliations, accruals, and clearing accounts
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIF/SUMIFS, filters, and reconciliations
• Experience working within ERP/payroll systems
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet payroll deadlines

Preferred:

• Workday Payroll and/or Time Tracking experience
• Canadian payroll experience
• ADP wage garnishment or payroll tax service experience
• D365, AX, or Great Plains experience
• FPC or CPP certification

Pay: $29$33/hr DOE Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM5:00 PM Location: West Tulsa, OK
