7th & 8th Grade Science Parental Leave Teacher and Advisor

Position Summary Mount Tamalpais School (MTS) seeks a full‑time 7th‑ and 8th‑grade science teacher and advisor for parental leave from August 17 to October 30, 2026. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of teaching experience and a B.A. or B.S. in a relevant field. Responsibilities & Qualifications Exhibit a passion for content knowledge and a range of effective pedagogical approaches for the subject and age group. Demonstrate commitment to equitable and culturally responsive teaching practices so that every student can see themself in their classroom, the curriculum, and the pedagogy. Cultivate an inclusive, collaborative, and challenging learning environment that reflects MTS values and allows a diverse student body to grow and thrive. Integrate technology in effective ways that enhance students’ learning experiences and growth. Possess a growth mindset and commitment to personal and professional development. Collaborate effectively with other community members both within their own department and in the School community as a whole. Serve as an advisor who is committed to the social and emotional development of students and community building. Communicate with students and families regularly through school platforms and email. Support grade‑level events. Location The school is located fifteen minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge in Mill Valley, CA, serving approximately 270 students in K‑8.
