Position Summary
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for generating new business opportunities by identifying prospective clients, building relationships, and scheduling qualified meetings for the sales team. This role plays a key part in driving company growth through outbound prospecting, lead qualification, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and research potential customers and target markets
- Conduct outbound calls, emails, and social outreach to generate leads
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads based on company criteria
- Schedule meetings and product demonstrations for Account Executives or Sales Managers
- Maintain accurate customer records and activity within CRM software
- Develop and maintain relationships with prospects and existing clients
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams on lead generation campaigns
- Follow up with prospects in a timely and professional manner
- Meet or exceed monthly lead generation and appointment-setting goals
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitors, and company offerings
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience
- 1–3 years of sales, customer service, or business development experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable making high-volume outbound calls and emails
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
- Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
