Youth Development Manager, Alpha - $200,000/year USD

Job Overview Students at Alpha do not attend traditional lectures. They progress through adaptive learning platforms at twice the speed of conventional classrooms while simultaneously developing practical life competencies. As a Youth Development Manager, your responsibility is to ensure three core commitments are met for every student in your cohort: they genuinely enjoy school, they accelerate learning by 2x, and they acquire skills beyond the textbook. You will also develop the Guides who uphold these commitments throughout your campus. Your time will be shared between working directly with your student cohort and coaching the Guides under your leadership. When a Guide’s session underperforms, you observe, discuss, and resolve the issue the same afternoon. What You Will Be Doing Facilitating one‑hour interactive life‑skills and social‑emotional learning (SEL) sessions with K‑8 students using Alpha’s established framework. Conducting daily motivational sessions to ensure 100% of students reach their weekly app‑based objectives through age‑appropriate motivators such as school currency and leaderboards. Developing Guides through direct observation, specific feedback, and practical training so they execute sessions with equivalent energy and accuracy. Analyzing Coachbot data and student records to determine which students require intervention, then providing that intervention directly. Personally mentoring your assigned student cohort, exemplifying the coaching and motivational techniques you expect from all Guides. What You Won’t Be Doing Creating lesson plans or developing curriculum; students progress through adaptive applications. Delivering traditional lectures; the role requires 80% entertainer, 20% content expert. Compromising standards due to pressure from parents or administration. Working from an office processing administrative tasks; most of your time is spent directly with students and Guides. Waiting extended periods for performance feedback; data is available in real time through Coachbot. Basic Requirements Located in or willing to relocate to one of the listed locations (relocation assistance available). Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred; traditional teaching certifications not required). Minimum 5 years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, or a related area. Demonstrated experience creating and executing educational programs, curricula, or training initiatives. Proven history of managing a team of 5 or more individuals, including recruitment and performance‑based separation decisions. Experience coaching, mentoring, or delivering constructive feedback to enhance engagement and performance. Experience supporting youth aged 5–14 in educational or developmental environments. Competency in leveraging data and metrics to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement. Legal authorization to work in the United States. Nice‑to‑Have Requirements Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, or Business. Experience as an athletic coach, camp director, or youth program leader where you directly motivated children to achieve quantifiable goals. Background coaching adults in positions where output was measured and evaluated. Confidence performing before large groups of children; presence that commands attention in a room full of 8‑year‑olds. Working with Us This is a full‑time (40 hours per week) long‑term position with weekly payment. The expected compensation is $200,000 annually (equivalent to $100 per hour).
