Clinical Applications Engineer
Intuitive Surgical
Clinical Applications Engineer at Intuitive Surgical supports early adoption of robotic minimally invasive surgery systems. The role focuses on training new clinical sites, providing procedural guidance, and collaborating with engineering teams to refine product usage and design.
Responsibilities
- Deliver procedural support to new robotic system sites for safe and effective adoption
- Train physicians and clinical staff on system operation and best practices during procedures
- Identify and escalate clinical adoption barriers to training and engineering partners
- Maintain communication across global Clinical Applications Engineering and development teams
- Track product documentation, technical troubleshooting, and clinical literature for continuous learning
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years technical or clinical experience in healthcare
- Experience navigating hospitals and supporting clinical procedures
- Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or healthcare-related field
- Proficiency with complex technical systems and critical patient care environments
- Self-directed, adaptable problem-solver with strong communication and situational awareness
- Ability to travel up to 70% with flexible scheduling including nights and weekends
- Capacity to manage travel logistics independently and respond to urgent requests
