About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS, ENPC Must-Have: 2 years experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high volume emergency department. At least 1 year experience in an emergency room setting. Teamwork mentality and the ability to coach and provide feedback in real time. Flexibility to work in all areas of the emergency department. Description: The emergency department has a total of 101 beds. Patient ratios are typically 4:1 for medical patients, and up to 7:1 for behavioral holds. Technicians work in the cardiac monitoring unit and the internal processing area, as well as triage. Unit clerks are available on both days and nights. Equipment includes Baxter pumps and GE monitors. The documentation system used is Cerner. Scheduling requires working every other weekend, without the ability to commit to block scheduling. Staff must be open to floating to all sections of the emergency department, though no floating outside of the department is required. Patient experience initiatives include AIDET, respectful behavior, and ensuring that boards are updated with information throughout each patient's visit. Certifications required before the start date include ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS. ENPC must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Advanced skills are needed for procedures performed in this unit. The dress code includes navy scrubs. Attendance policies will be provided on the first day.
