Position Summary:

The Patient Transporter is an integral part of the patient care team providing prompt, courteous, customer-focused service to the patients, visitors, and coworkers of Boston Medical Center - South. The Patient Transporter is responsible for patient transport within the hospital and for miscellaneous functions as well. He/she contributes to service excellence by fostering collaboration among and between team members as well as other ancillary departments.

Schedule: Overnight 11pm-7:30am, Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday (Monday, Tuesday, Friday off)

Department: Patient Transport

Education:

• High diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

• Requires heavy lifting and pushing, pulling and standing.
• Requires the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate clearly to interact appropriately with nursing staff, patients, families/visitors, physicians, and other hospital staff.
• Work requires demonstrated ability to effectively speak, read, and write English.
• Work requires ability to follow instructions, work independently and efficiently to complete assigned work.

Experience:

• Requires 6-12 months of experience in customer service or hospital experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Required:

• Obtaining and the maintenance of CPR preferred

Compensation Range: $17.92- $26.63

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer.
