General Production Worker

Job Title: General Production Worker - 1ST SHIFT - START ASAP

Job Description

The parts packer inspects, sorts, counts, and packages manufactured hardware, metal bars, or mechanical components into containers for safe shipping and storage.

Responsibilities

• Inspect metal bars, components, or finished products for damage, defects, or incorrect sizing before packing.

• Organize and tally parts accurately based on work orders, bills of materials, or packing lists.

• Place items securely into boxes, crates, or cartons using padding, protective wrapping, and strapping.

• Weigh completed packages and attach accurate barcodes, part numbers, and shipping labels.

• Keep the packing and assembly area clean, safe, and stocked with necessary packing materials.

Essential Skills

• Production experience

• General labor skills

• Ability to load and perform heavy lifting

• Experience with machine set up and tooling adjustments

• Machining skills, including punch press and CNC operation

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Attention to detail to match specific part numbers and verify counts without error.

• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and frequently lift heavy parts (often 50 pounds or more).

• Familiarity with hand tools, tape dispensers, RF scanners, and basic warehouse equipment like pallet jacks.

Work Environment

Work in a climate-controlled, air-conditioned machine shop environment with 50 Hydromat machines. The position is for the first shift, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Training might be required on the first shift for 1-3 weeks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of O Fallon, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
