What You’ll Do Effectively monitor and inspect equipment for defects Participate in CMC safety programs and uphold the safety culture Perform additional duties as needed Perform all facets of repair safely while using hand tools, power tools and precision tools at varying heights or adverse conditions Perform building maintenance as required Purchase supplies and parts for repair, track purchase requisitions when necessary Cross‑train as required or willing Attend extensive training regarding applicable equipment Maintain good housekeeping, keeping equipment and work area clean; keep tools in good working condition Perform predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance; use computer systems and programs for documentation of maintenance and safety activities; record time entry, notifications, work orders, corrective actions/comments Repair and maintain shop machinery and mechanical equipment including overhead cranes, shears, benders, threaders, forges, induction heaters and welders Work with other technicians on job orders and troubleshooting What You’ll Need Able to work outside under all weather conditions, including heat and cold Welding skills preferred Able to read technical documents and service manuals, write clearly Both mechanically and electrically inclined with experience in both areas Experience servicing and repairing industrial equipment Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulations Minimum 4 years preferred in a heavy industrial environment Strong work ethic and commitment to safe habits Specific knowledge of hydraulics a plus Ability to work as a team player in a fast‑paced environment, pay attention to detail, and find root causes for issues Proficient skills with hand tools, power tools and precision tools for repair and maintenance processes Work on rotating shifts with some overtime required Able to work overtime as business requires Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps, and work outside when needed Your Education High school diploma or GED required CMC is a Fortune 500 company at the leading edge of our industry.
