Mass Tort Legal Assistant

for our

New York City

office.

Primary Responsibilities: Preparation of correspondence and legal documents Assist with electronic court filing in both State and Federal Courts Assist attorneys with trial preparation and provide trial support as requested Convert file types and send large files via iManage Share/ShareFile Assist with record retrieval and managing database As requested, monitoring of deadlines and calendars General utilization and submission of clerical and administrative forms such as check requests and expense reports Coordination of conference calls, video conferences and other interpersonal communication as requested. Preparation of incoming/outgoing mailings and distribution Coordination of large-scale document jobs Assist with greeting clients & guests Maintain client files and assist with document storage Provide general assistance firmwide as a member of the legal support team as needed Performs other related duties as assigned Skills/Abilities Strong verbal and written skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to function well in a high paced environment Aptitude for learning new applications, systems, and processes Proficient with Microsoft Office365 and Adobe Proficient with document management systems, iManage preferred Proficient with redlining, track changes, table of authorities and table of contents preferred Education and Experience: High school degree or equivalent required; college degree preferred Minimum two years of experience as an assistant, preferably in a law firm environment Physical Requirements: Remain stationary for extended periods while performing repetitive tasks such as working at a computer Ability to move throughout the office to attend meetings, access files, collaborate with colleagues, and use standard office equipment, including but not limited to; printers, copiers, scanners Ability to move files, documents, supplies, or materials up to 10 pounds Travel expectation: None Benefits: Generous PTO and holiday schedule Medical/Vision/Dental insurance Hybrid work schedule Commuter Benefits Paid parental leave 401k plan In compliance with New York pay transparency, the salary range for this position is $68,00-$85,000. We note the salary information as a general guideline only, as we will consider various factors to determine the offer for this role, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, relevant work skills and experience, and education.
