Business Litigation Associate Attorney, 3 to 5 Years

Cohen Business Law Group, APC is seeking a business litigation associate with approximately 3 to 5 years of experience to join our Los Angeles (Westwood) practice. We are a boutique business law firm representing entrepreneurs, privately held companies, emerging businesses, and established enterprises in commercial litigation, corporate transactions, intellectual property, and Internet and technology matters. The associate will work directly with the firm’s attorneys and clients and will have meaningful responsibility for matters from the outset. The position includes drafting pleadings and motions, handling discovery, conducting legal research, preparing for and attending hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials, and communicating directly with clients and opposing counsel. We are looking for an attorney with strong research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills who is comfortable taking responsibility for matters and exercising independent judgment. Candidates should have solid business litigation experience and a practical understanding of how legal strategy affects a client’s business. Experience with intellectual property, Internet or technology, or privacy matters is helpful but not required. An interest in developing experience in those areas is important. The position is well suited for an attorney who wants sophisticated work, direct client contact, significant responsibility, and the opportunity to develop as a well rounded business litigator in a smaller firm environment. Candidates must be local and must be admitted to the California Bar and in good standing. Compensation is competitive and will depend on experience, qualifications, and the value the candidate can bring to the firm.
