Position Summary


Seeking a Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-paced industrial environment. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position will assist with general ledger accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, cash management, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to grow within a collaborative accounting team while supporting continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records.
• Prepare detailed balance sheet and bank account reconciliations.
• Support cash management activities, including posting cash receipts, reconciling cash accounts, and monitoring outstanding checks.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Monitor capital expenditures and maintain fixed asset records.
• Support Accounts Payable by assisting with invoice processing and vendor inquiries as needed.
• Maintain and track company credit card activity and reconciliations.
• Assist with annual audits, insurance renewals, and other compliance-related reporting.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist with documenting and implementing new accounting procedures.
• Cross-train within the accounting department to provide backup support for other accounting functions.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 2-4 years of general ledger accounting experience.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Manufacturing, industrial, construction, or distribution accounting experience preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• ERP experience required; Epicor experience is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting fixed assets and capital project accounting.
• Experience with cash management and financial reporting.
• Experience working in a small to mid-sized company environment.
• Experience identifying and implementing accounting process improvements.
