Sterile Processing Technician

The Sterile Processing Technician plays a critical role in surgical services. The position requires expertise in sterilization and decontaminating instruments. Assembly and wrapping of surgical sets and trays is essential. Experience with scope reprocessing is necessary. Preferred experience includes neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, and GYN cases. This position operates on a rotating weekend schedule. All technicians are required to be on call at least once every two months. Call starts on Saturday morning and continues until the following Monday morning. Travelers should be aware of potential assignments to emergency response teams during hurricane season. No time off requests will be approved after the contract is signed. Candidates must provide any requested time off during the submission process. All applicants must have a local radius of 60 miles considered for submission. Previous permanent staff must be separated for 1 year before returning in a traveling capacity. All labs must be completed within the specified timeframe prior to start. Modules are non-billable and must be completed pre-start with an average of 4 hours spent. The position requires adherence to all compliance requirements before reporting. This role is critical for maintaining patient care and safety within the surgical environment.
