This role resides within the Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs (PS&RA) function of the R&D organization. The successful candidate will play a key role in enabling new product launches and maintaining regulatory compliance for existing products. Identify regulatory risks early and propose mitigation strategies. Support licensing activities, as needed. Oversee Brand Maintenance & Lifecycle Management (25%) Provide ongoing regulatory support for existing products, including formula/label updates and issue resolution. Monitor regulatory changes (e.g., federal, state, global trends) and translate impacts into actionable changes. Work with Consumer Affairs to develop consumer-facing responses, providing regulatory guidance to ensure accuracy, consistency, and appropriate interpretation of product claims, ingredients, and safety information. Monitor the Certification Program (10%) Lead regulatory activities supporting third-party certifications (e.g., Kosher, Halal, Organic). Coordinate submission dossiers, data verification, and renewal processes. Collaborate with suppliers and certifying bodies to ensure compliance and continuity. Manage Regulatory Registrations (10%) Manage state and federal Food facility registrations and product registrations for Kingsford. Ensure timely submissions to avoid business disruption. What we look for: Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, Biology). 4+ years of FDA Foods regulatory experience within the CPG industry. Strong working knowledge of FDA regulations (e.g., FD&C Act) and Canadian regulatory frameworks, including labeling, claims, ingredients, and formulation requirements. Hands-on experience with third-party certifications (e.g. Kosher, Halal, Organic). Experience with state and federal registrations and a solid understanding of the FDA enforcement landscape, including emerging trends and state vs federal dynamics. Demonstrated ability to develop regulatory strategies, assess risk, and influence cross-functional teams to drive compliant outcomes. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Proven problem-solving skills and sound judgment in navigating complex and ambiguous situations. Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
