Locums Gastroenterologist Physician

We are seeking a Locums Gastroenterologist Physician to provide hospital-based coverage in Richmond, Virginia. This opportunity is ideal for a board-certified gastroenterologist looking for consistent weekend call coverage with a low patient volume in a well-supported hospital setting.

Position Details

Practice Setting:Hospital-Based

Schedule:24-hour call (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m.)

Coverage Need:12 days per month, primarily weekend coverage

Call Type:24-hour call coverage each day

Average Patient Volume:3 patients per day

EMR: Meditech

Responsibilities

Provide inpatient gastroenterology consults and call coverage

Evaluate, diagnose, and manage GI-related conditions

Perform procedures as clinically indicated

Collaborate with hospitalists, nursing staff, and ancillary teams

Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the EMR

Requirements

Board Certified in Gastroenterology

Active Virginia medical license (or ability to obtain)

DEA and CSR (or ability to obtain)

Prior inpatient GI and call experience preferred
