Basketball Coach

This individual will be responsible for building a competitive team culture while prioritizing sportsmanship and personal development of student-athletes. Key responsibilities include planning, organizing, and conducting all varsity-level practices and competitions; developing and implementing effective game strategies and training programs; fostering a positive, inclusive, and disciplined team environment; mentoring student-athletes in skill development, leadership, and character; collaborating with assistant coaches and athletic department staff; ensuring compliance with school, district, and state athletic regulations; monitoring student-athlete academic progress and eligibility; communicating effectively with players, parents, staff, and administration; and overseeing equipment, uniforms, and program budgeting.

Qualifications include previous coaching experience, strong knowledge of basketball rules, techniques, and training methods, demonstrated leadership and organizational skills, ability to motivate and connect with student-athletes, CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain), and coaching certification (or willingness to obtain). Preferred attributes include commitment to sportsmanship, integrity, and student development, strong communication and conflict-resolution skills, experience building and sustaining successful athletic programs, and ability to promote the program within the school and community.
