About the Role
The Camphouse in Starkville is seeking a hands-on, hard-working Kitchen Manager to lead our back-of-house operations directly from the line.
This is a working leadership role: you will be on the line cooking during peak service while taking full operational ownership of food ordering, kitchen scheduling, food production, and overall BOH success. As part of an expanding multi-location restaurant group, we prioritize developing strong leaders with clear pathways for internal growth and career advancement.

Responsibilities

• Working Line Leadership: Cook on the line during peak service, setting the standard for speed, food consistency, portioning, and plating accuracy.
• Prep & Line Readiness: Manage prep execution personally and alongside line cooks to ensure 100% station readiness ahead of every shift.
• Inventory & Ordering: Manage weekly food orders, conduct weekly inventory counts, control waste, and maintain target food cost percentages.
• Kitchen Scheduling: Build and manage weekly kitchen schedules.
• Team Accountability: Train, mentor, and work side-by-side with line cooks to build a fast, dependable, and positive kitchen culture.
• Safety & Sanitation: Maintain strict health code compliance, kitchen cleanliness, and equipment maintenance protocols.
• Overall Kitchen Success: Take full accountability for back-of-house execution

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven line-cooking experience combined with kitchen supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong working knowledge of food ordering, inventory control, and labor scheduling.
• High operational speed and reliability on the line during high-volume shifts.
• Clear communication skills and a lead-by-example work ethic.
• Familiarity with scheduling software (7shifts and Toast experience is a plus).
• ServSafe Manager certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
