Quality Assurance Technician

Job Description The Quality Assurance Technician II supports AAON’s commitment to delivering high-quality HVAC products by performing inspections, tests, and audits throughout the manufacturing process. This entry-level role ensures that components and finished units meet internal and external standards. The technician works closely with production teams to identify defects and recommend corrective actions. Attention to detail and a strong understanding of quality principles are essential. Responsibilities Executing quality control procedures and supporting continuous improvement efforts across production lines. Conducting inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications. Documenting inspection results and maintaining accurate records in accordance with company standards. Reporting non-conformances and assisting in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. Collaborating with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes. Using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and multimeters to verify product dimensions and performance. Supporting internal audits and participating in quality training sessions. Ensuring compliance with AAON’s quality management system and applicable industry standards. Promoting a culture of quality and accountability on the production floor. Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or GED. Technical training or coursework in quality assurance, manufacturing, or HVAC systems is preferred. Equivalent background from education and experience may be accepted. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic understanding of quality control principles and inspection techniques. Familiarity with mechanical and electrical components used in HVAC systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective communication and teamwork abilities. Basic computer skills, including data entry and use of Microsoft Office. Essential Mental and Physical Functions Consistent focus, precision, and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Physical demands: standing for long periods, walking between workstations, and handling small tools and components. Key Functions Identify defects and inconsistencies in products. Manual dexterity for operating inspection tools and equipment. Visual acuity for detailed inspections and reading technical documents. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally and work in a fast‑paced environment. Work Environment The role works in a manufacturing setting with exposure to HVAC equipment, moderate noise levels, and varying temperatures. PPE is required in designated areas. The role may involve rotating shifts and occasional overtime based on production needs.
