Company description: The Bleeding Disorders Substance Use and Mental Health Access Coalition (BD SUMHAC) is a national coalition working to ensure that people with bleeding disorders can access inpatient and residential mental health and substance use disorder treatment. Too often they cannot. Treatment facilities deny admission because of the perceived complexity of bleeding disorders and their medication so people are turned away at the very moment they are ready to seek help. The Community Education and Advocacy Project (CEAP) is our national education initiative built to address this issue within the bleeding disorders community. The goal of the program is to encourage people with bleeding disorders to talk about mental health and substance use early, often, and honestly in the hopes of reducing the need for inpatient and residential treatment. CEAP brings together a library of community video stories, a trained speakers' bureau delivering workshops through local chapter organizations, a synthesis of the academic literature grounding our content in evidence, and educational programming on mental health and substance use designed for community audiences. Pilot implementation is underway. We are looking for a Program Coordinator to help carry this work forward. Role Description The Program Coordinator is a remote, contract role responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, and daily operations of coalition programs and initiatives. Location: Remote, but local to the United States with ability to occasionally travel to locations across the US to support, evaluate, and potentially deliver in-person programming Status: Part-time subcontractor through the New England Hemophilia Association (NEHA) Hours: Approximately 15 to 20 hours per week. Coalition and project meetings generally fall between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. ET Compensation: $38 to $48 per hour, commensurate with experience Term: Through December 2027, with potential for extension WHAT IT IS LIKE TO WORK HERE This is a small operation. The team is 1-2 staff, you, and a committed group of volunteers and partner organizations across the country. That shapes the job in ways worth being upfront about. Everyone does a little bit of everything. You will draft a newsletter in the morning and reconcile receipts in the afternoon. There is no separate communications department, no operations staff, and no one to hand things off to. If that sounds daunting, this is not the right fit. You will set your own hours around a light meeting schedule, work remotely, and have direct access to national coalition leadership rather than sitting three layers down from a decision. You will also finish this project with tangible things to point to: an evaluation you helped build, a video library you helped assemble, a speakers' bureau operating in chapters around the country. Most of all, the work matters. This project exists because people in the bleeding disorders community have been turned away from care, and some of them did not survive it. That is the problem we are trying to solve. WHAT YOU WILL DO Communications Update website content and manage social media messaging Manage the community video story library, including asset organization, captioning, and accessibility Design, draft, and distribute newsletters and community communications Coordination and operations Schedule coalition and workgroup meetings, circulate updates to the group, and send meeting reminders Prepare agendas, capture minutes, and track action items across coalition workgroups and project meetings Serve as day-to-day liaison to pilot chapter sites, tracking implementation milestones and troubleshooting as needed Coordinate the speakers' bureau, matching trained presenters to chapter requests and supporting workshop delivery Coordinate Community Story Conversations, including scheduling, consent and release documentation, and secure file management Administration and grant support Manage day-to-day grant administration, including receipts, reimbursements, and expense tracking across a multi-funder portfolio with distinct restrictions Build and maintain the documentation that will allow CEAP to transition to a permanent organizational home Program and evaluation support Support development of the CEAP program, and potentially deliver the content within the community Support implementation of the CEAP evaluation, including data collection, participant follow-up, and analysis support Serve as a thought partner on program strategy, framing, and design WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Demonstrated experience in program coordination, community education and/or communications, ideally in a nonprofit, public health, or health advocacy setting Strong writing skills, with the ability to move between community-facing warmth and professional polish Demonstrated ability to design and produce a newsletter from concept through distribution Proficiency with Canva or comparable design tools Comfort with website management and social media messaging Experience managing grant budgets, restricted funds, or expense reporting Excellent organizational skills and strong follow-through on details Comfort working with sensitive subject matter. This project involves personal stories about mental health, substance use, and loss. We need someone who can hold that material with care and discretion Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to build systems where none yet exist Availability for occasional travel to in-person programming in the United States Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Zoom, Squarespace or comparable website platforms, and major social media platforms PREFERRED A Master's degree in social work, public health, or a closely related field Experience with program evaluation, educational program design, or data collection and analysis Background in behavioral health or health equity work Comfort with facilitation and public speaking Experience coordinating volunteers or geographically distributed teams #J-18808-Ljbffr Bleeding Disorders Substance Use & Mental Health Access Coalition
