Scientist/Research Scientist, Molecular Pharmacology (contract position)
Septerna
Septerna seeks a contract molecular pharmacologist to develop quantitative biochemical assays supporting GPCR drug discovery. The role involves hands-on assay development and optimization using luminescence and fluorescence platforms applied to their Native Complex Platform.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize plate-based displacement binding assays supporting drug discovery projects
- Collaborate with discovery biology colleagues to prioritize and advance assay science
- Perform hands-on experimental work with purified proteins and cellular preparations
- Maintain laboratory documentation and conduct data analysis
Requirements
- BS with 10+ years hands-on in vitro pharmacology experience, or PhD in pharmacology/biochemistry/biophysics
- Demonstrated experience with NanoBRET, NanoBiT, BRET, TR-FRET, or fluorescence polarization assays
- Proficiency in assay development for GPCRs or membrane protein systems
- Strong laboratory documentation and data analysis skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary drug discovery teams
