Location: Monroe, NJ Hours: Flexible – Mon to Thu 7 am – 8 pm, Fridays 7 am – 3:30 pm Summary: The physical therapist provides physical therapy services in accordance with the New Jersey Practice Act and the Bylaws of Princeton Healthcare System, standards of accreditation and state regulatory bodies, and the Code of Ethics of the APTA. The practice involves examination, evaluation, treatment and instruction of individuals for the prevention, habilitation or rehabilitation of physical disability, functional deficit, and/or pain. Areas include acute care, orthopedics, neurology, geriatrics, pediatrics, cardiopulmonary, home health, OB‑GYN, and oncology. The role also includes administration, education, and research. Physical therapists participate in staff education activities and provide consultation for facility personnel. They communicate and document with other disciplines to provide continuity and coordination of patient care. Key Responsibilities: Perform a patient examination in a technically competent manner and provide skilled services based on sound judgment and established standards of practice. Evaluate clinical findings to determine rehabilitation diagnosis, outcomes, and care goals. Design a plan of care that integrates goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge planning, and adapt delivery of care accordingly. Perform reassessments as necessary and assess need for other services. Document care within designated time frames in the EMR and hand off problems and resolutions to the case manager and team. Incorporate economic considerations and maintain compliance with productivity standards per the staffing plan. Demonstrate competency in the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients, including age‑specific competencies. Support customer service and departmental performance‑improvement goals and collaborate with other caregivers and staff. Implement a self‑directed plan for professional development and lifelong learning. Maintain confidentiality and maintain professional representation of PHCS during interactions with suppliers, committee members, new employees, and students. Plan and implement in‑service and continuing educational activities to meet identified learning needs and performance‑improvement initiatives. Credentials: Physical Therapist (required) Basic Cardiac Life Support (required) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required) Education or Equivalent Experience: Bachelor of Arts or Science in Physical Therapy, accredited by the APTA. Graduation from a physical therapy program accredited by the APTA or an equivalent program. If educated outside the U.S., possess appropriate educational requirements. Acute‑care clinical affiliations (equivalent experience). Master of Arts or Science in Physical Therapy, accredited by the APTA or equivalent.
