Role Description

The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our NYC store, with a focus on driving sales, delivering an exceptional customer experience, and maintaining a welcoming, community-driven atmosphere. This person will help lead and motivate the store team, maintain strong operational standards, and take ownership of the store when the Store Manager is not present.

• In-person schedule (Must be available to work in NYC store)
• Works closely with store manager, store associates, and operations team
• Compensation — $65,000 to $70,000
• Benefits — Company sponsored health benefits and paid time off (PTO)

Responsibilities

Sales and Store Performance

• Support the Store Manager in achieving weekly and monthly sales goals.
• Monitor store performance, including sales, traffic, conversion, and other key KPIs.
• Identify opportunities to improve sales and customer experience.
• Motivate the team throughout the day and help maintain a sales-driven store environment.

Customer Experience and Community

• Deliver a welcoming, knowledgeable, and personalized customer experience.
• Build relationships with customers and help develop repeat and VIP clientele.
• Ensure the team can confidently communicate the brand's story, products, history, and ethos.
• Support in-store events and activations that strengthen the store's connection to the local community.

Team Leadership and Development

• Support the Store Manager in training, coaching, and developing store associates.
• Provide ongoing feedback and help ensure the team maintains strong customer service and brand standards.
• Help create a collaborative, accountable, and positive store culture.
• Lead by example on the sales floor and step in wherever needed.
• Take ownership of the store and team when the Store Manager is not present.

Store Operations

• Support daily store operations, including opening and closing, POS procedures, cash handling, inventory, and store maintenance.
• Maintain accurate inventory and assist with regular inventory counts and audits.
• Help ensure operational processes and store procedures are consistently followed.
• Troubleshoot day-to-day store issues and communicate larger operational needs to the Store Manager and operations team.

Communication and Team Coordination

• Maintain clear communication with the Store Manager and broader team regarding store performance, customer feedback, inventory needs, and operational issues.
• Proactively identify store needs and opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate with marketing, operations, and creative teams as needed.
• Occasionally assist with capturing photos or videos of in-store activities for social media and internal use.

Events and Brand Initiatives

• Support the Store Manager and marketing team with in-store events, activations, partnerships, and product launches.
• Help ensure events are executed smoothly and reflect the brand's identity.
• Engage with customers and the local community to help increase awareness, traffic, and sales.

Store Presentation and Maintenance

• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store at all times.
• Support visual merchandising and ensure product presentation meets brand standards.
• Lead by example by tackling tasks directly when needed and fostering a culture of shared responsibility.
