Sterile Processing Tech (SPT)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and sterility of medical instruments and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sterile processing and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
• Operate sterilization equipment, such as washers and sterilizers.
• Assemble and wrap surgical trays and sets according to established procedures.
• Utilize proper selection of wrapping materials and sterilization wrapping procedures.
• Document and manage equipment maintenance and sterilization cycles.
• Safeguard and handle biological and chemical indicators effectively.
• Support various surgical specialties including ENT, orthopedics, OB/GYN, plastics, and urology.
• Participate in floating responsibilities as directed within the specialty as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain high standards of cleanliness and operation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a sterile processing environment.
• Required certifications: CBSPD, CRCST, or IAHCSMM/HPSA (any one certification accepted).
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment, disinfectants, high-level disinfection (HLD) procedures.
• Experience with instrumentation related to various surgical specialties.
• Ability to work every other weekend as part of a rotating schedule.

Schedule

This position requires a 5x8 hour shift, Tuesday through Saturday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. There is no on-call requirement for this role.
