Make a difference by supporting and empowering students with visual impairments in a full-time, contract role near Hudson, WY. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired or Visually Impaired Teacher
- Experience working with students who are blind or have low vision in school-based settings
- Knowledge of Braille, adaptive technology, and instructional strategies for the visually impaired
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt materials and curriculum to individual student needs
- Experience with IEP development and documentation preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments based on individual needs
- Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to modify curriculum and ensure accessibility
- Support students with orientation and mobility skills in partnership with other professionals
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Consult and communicate effectively with families and caregivers
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
