Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for developing and managing division level budgets and forecast. This position will analyze, interpret and communicate timely and unbiased financial information to management to inform critical business decisions. Responsibilities Drives planning, budgeting and forecasting process by partnering with business owners. Responsible for monthly financial performance reporting and communications, including trend and variance analysis, to functional and finance leaders. Works independently or collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to perform sophisticated, high‑impact persuasive analysis that drives strategic decision‑making for all areas of the business. Manages key department processes and projects, such as cost allocations, profitability analysis, scenario analysis, rate review, cost benefit analysis, etc. Develops and maintains complex models. Identifies opportunities and leads process improvement efforts to achieve operational efficiency. Mentors junior members of the team and oversees their work. Drives efforts to improve financial and business acumen of partners across the enterprise. Supports development of analysis, including key drivers that impact business outcome. Interprets financial and other data to deliver insights and support decision making for business partners. Qualifications 4+ years with bachelor’s degree A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis Strong organizational/time management skills and multitasking abilities Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Knowledge of ERP and planning applications such as Oracle/Hyperion, SAP, IBM/Cognos (Oracle/Hyperion preferred) Understanding of basic accounting concepts and principles Able to effectively coordinate work and communicate across disparate groups, functions and levels in the organization PC literacy required; excellent MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) Knowledge of health insurance industry desirable Location & Compensation Hybrid position: first three months onsite approximately three days per week in either Oakland, CA or Rancho Cordova, CA, transitioning to approximately one day per week onsite thereafter. Candidates should be within a reasonable commuting distance of one of these locations. Annual base pay range: $71,400 – $149,500 (Pay Grade 20).
