Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry Float Pool Night position requiring 18 months of true telemetry/cardiac experience and prior travel assignment history.

Job Details

• position within a Cardiac Telemetry Float Pool at a community hospital,
• Patient population includes cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown, and neurological cases such as CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury,
• Handles pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac angiogram patients, including sheath management and TR Band use,
• Manages cardiac and vasoactive drips with titration, heparin protocols, and IV insulin/insulin drip titration,
• Performs cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and utilizes rapid response/code teams,
• Uses Cerner EMR,
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (18:45-07:15),
• Every other weekend required,
• Must be willing to float to all competent units within the facility,
• Must be willing to accept COVID-positive patients,

Job Requirements

• or Compact RN license required at time of consideration,
• Minimum of 18 months of true telemetry/cardiac experience required, including titrating drips and pre/post cardiac cath patient care,
• Minimum of 1 year of overall RN experience required,
• Prior travel nursing experience required,
• Community hospital experience required; Trauma Level II experience required,
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred,
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), CPI, and NIHSS,
• TNCC certification preferred,
• Cerner charting system experience required,
• Must pass an onsite EKG exam with 80% or higher, including identification of lethal rhythms,
• 8 cardiac and 8 stroke CEUs required for this placement,
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration,
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and PICC line management,
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE,
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care,

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for cardiac telemetry and neurological patients, including monitoring, medication management, and emergency response,
• Must be willing to float to all competent units within the hospital,
• Navy blue scrubs required,
• Completion of pre-start HealthStream education modules is required, and candidates are responsible for monitoring email for module assignments and meeting deadlines,
• No block scheduling will be added to the contract,
• Time off requests submitted after placement will not be approved,
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction,
• Previous employees must have a break in service of at least 1 year to be eligible for reapplication,
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
