Job Description

The Human Resources Assistant focuses on accurate and timely payroll processing and HR administrative support. This role compiles and verifies employee time and payroll data, processes paychecks and earnings statements, maintains organized electronic records, and provides responsive support to employees on payroll and HR-related inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Review time sheets, work charts, wage computations, and related information to identify and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
• Compile employee time, production, and payroll data from time sheets and other records to ensure accurate payroll processing.
• Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and post this information into designated payroll and HR systems.
• Process and issue employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions for multiple companies as required.
• Maintain and update payroll records by recording employee information such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations.
• Issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases, ensuring proper documentation.
• Compile and review weekly departmental analytical reports to support payroll and HR decision-making.
• Provide support to employees accessing the ADP Employee Portal, including troubleshooting access and navigation issues.
• Complete verification of income requests accurately and in a timely manner.
• Distribute department mail and ensure documents reach the appropriate recipients.
• Maintain a well-organized electronic, paperless filing system for payroll and HR records.
• Represent the organization professionally and tactfully in all payroll-related communications.
• Compile and post employee time and payroll data into payroll and HR systems, including ERP platforms.
• Compute employees’ time worked and production pay, calculate wages and deductions, and prepare paychecks.

Essential Skills

• Experience with payroll processing, including compiling, verifying, and posting employee time and payroll data.
• Proficiency in payroll software and HR systems, including use of ADP Employee Portal.
• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to compute employees’ time worked, production pay, wages, and deductions.
• Administrative and clerical skills to support HR and payroll functions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly for reports, documentation, and data management.
• Ability to represent the organization professionally and tactfully in payroll-related responses.
• Time management skills to effectively manage one’s own workload and coordinate with others.
• Mathematics skills to solve payroll-related problems and perform accurate calculations.
• Reading comprehension skills to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
• Active listening skills to fully understand employee questions and concerns and respond appropriately.
• Strong verbal communication skills to convey information clearly and effectively.
• Active learning skills to understand the implications of new information for current and future payroll and HR processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience providing HR support and human resources administration in a payroll-focused role.
• Background in clerical and administrative support within a corporate environment.
• Familiarity with ERP systems used for payroll and HR data management.
• Ability to maintain a well-organized electronic and paperless filing system.
• Comfort working with multiple companies or departments in a shared services environment.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential payroll and employee information with discretion.

Work Environment

This role is based at the company headquarters in Collierville, TN, within a professional office setting. The position involves extensive work with payroll and HR systems, including ADP and ERP platforms, as well as regular use of Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation. Work is primarily computer-based and detail-oriented, requiring consistent accuracy and organization in a paperless, electronic filing environment. The Human Resources Coordinator collaborates with HR and payroll team members and interacts regularly with employees seeking support on payroll and portal access.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Collierville, TN.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Collierville,TN.
