Role Description The Certified Athletic Trainer is an hourly, on-site role based in New York, NY, supporting the health, safety, and performance of student-athletes. Responsibilities include assessing injuries and providing immediate care. The trainer will maintain accurate documentation of injuries and treatments. This role also involves communicating with families, healthcare providers, and school administrators to coordinate care plans and ensure alignment with school policies. The trainer contributes to a safe and supportive athletic environment that reflects LREI’s mission and values. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Injury Prevention and Prevention skills to reduce risk and promote student-athlete safety. Candidates should possess comprehensive Athletic Training expertise, including on-field assessment, emergency care, and return-to-play management. Candidates should possess Rehabilitation skills to create and oversee individualized recovery plans for a range of sports-related injuries. Current certification as an Athletic Trainer (e.g., BOC certification) and eligibility for New York State licensure or registration. Relevant bachelor’s in Athletic Training or a closely related field. Experience working with school-age athletes and familiarity with secondary school athletic programs is recommended. Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, coaches, and medical professionals.
