An interim inpatient pharmacy technician position is available in the Long Beach, CA area, offering full-time hours for approximately one month before transitioning to a PRN schedule. This role is ideal for a local candidate with the required qualifications and a willingness to continue supporting the pharmacy on an as-needed basis after the initial full-time period.

The facility supports 117 licensed beds with an average daily census of 44 patients. As a pharmacy technician in this setting, you'll gain valuable experience working within a dynamic inpatient environment that utilizes Paragon/Allscripts for order entry and Pyxis for inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform IV compounding and accurately fill medications in the Pyxis system
• Support medication distribution and inventory control processes across multiple shifts
• Collaborate with pharmacists and clinical staff to ensure timely and safe delivery of medications
• Assist with maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid California Pharmacy Technician license
• Proven skills in IV compounding and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Experience with inpatient pharmacy operations preferred
• Familiarity with Paragon/Allscripts order entry systems beneficial
• Ability to work flexible shifts including days and weekends as scheduled (shift times: 07:30-16:00, 12:00-20:30; weekends 08:00-16:30)

This contract position is full-time (40 hours per week) for about 4 weeks with an option to continue in a PRN capacity. Shift hours rotate based on coverage needs and team availability.
