Overview
Registered Nurse – PACU | Portland, Oregon, United States. Begin 06/08/2026 for a 13-week travel assignment in a short-term acute care setting. Weekly pay range: $1,909–$2,055 per week. Shift: four 9-hour day shifts. This PACU role focuses on post-anesthesia recovery care in a busy acute care environment, requiring strong assessment, collaboration, and patient safety skills.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct post-anesthesia nursing care in the PACU, including continuous patient assessment and monitoring of airway, breathing, circulation, and recovery status.
- Manage pain control, nausea, and hemodynamic stability; administer medications and document responses per physician orders.
- Reconcile and communicate patient status with the anesthesia team, surgeons, and other PACU staff; assist with transitions to appropriate next care areas or discharge from PACU.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record, including vitals, patient progress, interventions, and discharge criteria.
- Ensure patient safety and infection control practices; support patient and family education regarding recovery expectations and discharge instructions.
- Adjust care plans based on evolving patient condition and unit protocols; escalate concerns promptly.

Requirements
- Current RN license in Oregon (in good standing)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS per American Heart Association (or ARC equivalents) required
- Education: graduate of an accredited nursing program; licensure to practice as a registered nurse
- Experience: PACU nursing experience preferred; ability to work in a fast-paced post-anesthesia care setting
- Competencies: strong assessment skills, critical thinking, teamwork, and clear communication; ability to work four 9-hour day shifts
