Dogtopia is the foremost provider of the highest quality dog care in the area. We are an open play facility that provides daycare, boarding and spa services. Dogtopia offers a fast‑paced, exciting work environment and we are seeking new part/full‑time members for our team! Job Description Dogtopia of Westchase is seeking hardworking, organized, and self‑motivated Shift Leaders for our growing daycare location. This is a part‑time position (30‑35 hours per week) with potential advancement to full time. The role is expected to be year‑round employment, not seasonal. The Shift Leader is responsible for maintaining accountability and safety for a team of up to 20 employees and a group of up to 100 customer dogs. The candidate should be prepared to spend the entire shift on their feet, multitask, and remain organized in a busy environment. 23 years of age or older Able to interact in a positive way with all sizes and types of dogs (no breed discrimination) Ready to take on heavy cleaning on a daily basis Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays Successful team members are always aware of their environment, consistently attend to the ever‑changing pack environment, and address the special needs of each animal. This position requires a high level of responsibility as we are caring for the lives of animals and maintaining a safe environment. It is a dirty job and involves hard work, self‑sufficiency, and the ability to maintain vigilance without human interaction for long periods. Other daily assignments may include giving dogs baths to company standards or performing nail trims. Duties and Responsibilities Work cohesively with their team in a respectful and professional manner Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Use company tools to communicate relevant information daily via the activity log and to their supervisor. Maintain a positive attitude and demeanor in all aspects of the position, including room management and customer service Maintain consistent time and attendance standards and dress code at all times Take personal responsibility for development and use mistakes or challenges as an opportunity to grow to a higher standard of performance Uphold and set the example for our company values Oversee training and development of team members, offering daily feedback and writing and delivering performance reviews Provide the highest level of customer service to clients, including managing any customer complaints through our online satisfaction rating system Invoice customer purchases accurately and monitor accountability of the team in this area Execute in‑store and out‑of‑store marketing such as local dog events, special promotions, and customer competitions Ensure that all Dogtopia health and safety policies are followed with regard to the dogs and the team members Successful Candidates Should Have a genuine affinity for dogs; they are the center of our business Be willing and able to learn basics of dog behavior; attending playroom sessions will be required, and all shift leaders must pass playroom attendant training Be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel Possess strong verbal communication skills and the ability to train and develop teams Possess strong organizational skills, multi‑tasking ability, and maintain oversight This is an entry‑level management position; prior management experience at a key‑holder or manager level is a plus but not required. The starting salary for the position is $10.50 per hour. Qualifications Experience in dog behavior and dog body language is a plus.
