Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift: 3x12-Hour (06:45 - 19:15). Floating may be required, with weekend shifts every other weekend and a patient ratio of 1:1.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with experience in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). The ideal candidate will provide high-level care to patients recovering from open-heart surgery, thoracotomies, esophagogastrectomies, and those requiring Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR). The RN will be responsible for monitoring and managing complex cardiovascular patients, utilizing advanced equipment and ensuring proper treatment protocols are followed.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
• Monitor patients on ECMO and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP).
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips and vasoactive drips.
• Provide care for ventilated patients and perform arterial line management.
• Conduct patient assessments and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs).
• Oversee the care and management of central lines.
• Participate in established isolation precautions and PPE protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in CC or CVICU.
• Active RN license; compact license is pending approval for submittal.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• Experience with accessing/managing ports, chest tube insertion/removal, and BiPAP/CPAP management is preferred.
