This role is essential to ensure the continued efficiency, security, and scalability of our application, which is currently hosted on RHEL 8.10 and utilizes outdated technologies such as JBoss 5.1.0 GA and Java JDK 1.6.0_14. The application is due for a significant upgrade to align with modern development practices.Key Responsibilities:Re-Platforming Effort: Lead the migration of the operating system from RHEL 8.10 to RHEL 9.4.Java Upgrade: Upgrade the Java environment from version 1.6 to Java 21.JBoss Transition: Transition from JBoss 5.1.0 GA to JBoss EAP 8.0.4.Performance Enhancement: Ensure the upgraded application provides enhanced performance and improved security features.Support Modern Practices: Implement best practices to support modern development and deployment processes.Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and minimal disruption during the migration process.Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of the migration process, configurations, and any changes made.Qualifications:Experience: Proven experience in application modernization, including Java upgrades, and JBoss transitions.Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of RHEL, Java, JBoss, and modern development practices. Experience with scripting languages like bash or Korn shell is a plusProblem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
