Senior Information Security Systems Engineer - Salt Lake City

Salary: $100,000 - 145,000 per year Requirements:

• We require an active U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance, with the ability to qualify for TS/SCI CI Poly access.
• We are seeking someone with a bachelors degree and at least 12 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least 10 years of related experience.
• In place of a degree, we will consider candidates with a minimum of 16 years of directly related experience.
• We need deep leadership capability and strong command of technical security engineering disciplines.
• We prefer a CISSP certification, with CySA and CASP also valued.
• We are looking for experience with tools and platforms such as Xacta, eMASS, ACAS, Nessus, Wireshark, Nmap, and the Elastic Stack.
• We value hands-on knowledge of risk management frameworks, especially NIST SP 800-53, and familiarity with ATO and A&A processes.
• We prefer candidates who have authored BOE documentation, managed POA&Ms, and supported security-related change control.
• We seek a solid grasp of systems engineering V-model practices, computer networking, and NIST publications.
• We value experience with Linux and Windows administration, Bash, Python, PowerShell, directory services, and application hardening through code scanning tools such as Coverity or Fortify.
• We prefer candidates with experience reviewing RFPs, preparing ROMs and bid packages, and managing budgets exceeding $3 million.

• We lead a team of information security systems engineers in designing and implementing secure systems across the full lifecycle.
• We ensure security requirements are identified early and carried through architecture, development, integration, evaluation, and sustainment.
• We apply systems security engineering methods to architecture, design, development, and system integration activities.
• We assess security solutions using encryption, vulnerability analysis, and broader security management practices.
• We combine multiple protection controls into cohesive, resilient security environments.
• We direct security authorization efforts and oversee ATO and accreditation/re-accreditation actions.
• We track all assigned systems for A&A status and ensure required documentation and approvals stay current.
• We manage an ISSE organization, including staffing and workforce planning.
• We represent program needs in meetings with government and customer stakeholders.
• We prepare bids, proposals, ROMs, and related business development inputs.
• We influence leadership on new methods, practices, and security concepts.
• We drive innovation, process improvement, and practical problem solving across the function.
• We recommend operational plans with a one- to two-year impact horizon.
• We establish or enhance processes and systems to improve security engineering outcomes.
• We work onsite, as this role cannot be performed remotely.
