A welcoming elementary school near Conifer, CO, is seeking a dedicated professional for a contract position to guide and support a small caseload of students during the upcoming academic year.
The role entails working Monday to Thursday from 7:45 am to 4:15 pm, providing robust support and instruction from August 5 through May 31. You’ll be supporting 10 students with mild to moderate needs and one exceptional learner with a cognitive disability. Desired skills and experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Previous experience in an elementary school setting preferred
- Strong skills in creating IEPs and adapting curriculum to student needs
- Ability to employ a variety of instructional strategies tailored to diverse learners
- Compassionate, patient, and collaborative approach to education
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Deliver high-quality instruction aligned with students’ needs
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service staff, and families
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as necessary
- Maintain detailed records as required by school standards and regulations
