Successful candidates must be comfortable working with multiple clients both virtually and on-site. The Controller will interact with clients, their staff, Board of Directors, and Finance Committees on a regular basis.ResponsibilitiesServe as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple non-profit clients. Your responsibilities would include:Transforming nonprofit client financial departments to help them meet their mission!Financial reporting for management and Board decision making and presentationsRecommending and implementing improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies and procedures, supporting client strategy and best practicesTransactional activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable (revenue recognition and billing), and payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and maintaining workpapersAnalysis and data visualization, budgeting and forecastingGrant management, allocations, and funder reportingPrepare for and manage annual auditClient and staff training opportunitiesQualificationsPassionate about working in or supporting non-profit organizationsBachelor's Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance5-7 plus years accounting experienceExperience working in a remote environment preferredAbility to manage and lead multiple clients, work independently, and be responsive on a timely basisDemonstrated strong Microsoft Excel skillsExperience with multiple GL packages, especially QuickBooks, and electronic bill pay systemsExperience with Sage Intacct is a plusNon-profit accounting, public accounting experience, and/or consulting experience is a plus but not requiredExternal audit experience is a plusCPA certification is a plusBilingual-English/Spanish a plusOur part-time employees are expected to work during normal business hours to best serve our clientsYPTC OffersA Best Place to Work!
