Assistant Director of Fitness and Recreation Programs

The Assistant Director of Fitness & Recreation Programs plays a pivotal role in enhancing the physical well-being of the campus community. Reporting to the Associate Director of Campus Recreation, the incumbent is tasked with developing, implementing, and evaluating a wide array of sports, fitness, and wellness programs. These programs are designed to cater to the diverse interests and needs of students, faculty, and staff. The Assistant Director oversees group fitness classes, wellness initiatives, personal training services, and recreational sports activities. Additionally, they collaborate closely with the Associate Director to create an inclusive environment where individuals of all backgrounds feel welcome. In addition to program management, the Assistant Director handles budget planning and expense projections for the areas under their supervision. They maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including alumni and the wider community, to continually enrich the selection of fitness and wellness offerings available. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring a safe environment by implementing effective risk management practices throughout the various program areas. Nationally Certified Personal Trainer and/or Group Fitness Certification American Red Cross CPR/AED Certified Instructor (or able to obtain within 60 days) Preferred 2-3 years leadership experience in Campus Recreation.
