Details Neuro Surgical Specialty unit with 34 beds Patient ratio of 4-5:1 Night shift, 6:45p-7:15a, 3 shifts per week (36 hours) Every other weekend required Uses Epic EMR Patient population includes spine and neuro surgical diagnoses (non-stroke) Equipment used includes lumbar and JP drains, wound vac, traction, PCA, trach care, EKG, and feeding tubes RN is not responsible for reading telemetry strips Requirements Active RN license (KY or compact) required BLS and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 2 years acute inpatient telemetry/acute care RN experience required Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required Epic EMR experience required Additional Information Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care per unit protocols Provides patient and family education throughout care and at discharge Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and serves as a mentor/preceptor Participates in quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives Optional neuro certification class available through the Neuro Institute American Traveler Job ID P-746092.
