Job Description

Senior Construction Project Manager – Large-Scale Industrial Construction

Montvale, NJ

$175,000–$250,000 DOE + Bonus
Office-Based Position

Overview

A fast-growing commercial construction company specializing in large-scale industrial and design-build projects is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to take ownership of major projects and play a key role in the company's continued expansion.

The company manages substantial construction projects, including warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and specialized industrial buildings, with significant responsibility entrusted to its project leadership.

We're looking for someone who has been in the trenches of major commercial construction projects, knows how to manage complexity, and can take complete ownership from start to finish.

This is not a position for someone who simply tracks schedules and coordinates paperwork. We need a strong, independent construction professional who can think ahead, make decisions, manage people, anticipate problems, and drive projects forward without constant oversight.

This is primarily an office-based leadership role , working directly with ownership to oversee field teams and take responsibility for the execution of multimillion-dollar projects.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to become a trusted leader within a growing company, with significant autonomy, responsibility, and long-term growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of large-scale commercial and industrial construction projects from planning through completion

• Oversee project execution, ensuring schedules, budgets, quality, and contractual obligations are met

• Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, contracts, and technical documentation

• Lead and coordinate on-site project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors

• Anticipate construction challenges, identify risks, and proactively resolve issues before they escalate

• Oversee project schedules, milestones, inspections, approvals, and critical deadlines

• Coordinate with owners, investors, lenders, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders

• Manage complex project decisions and ensure accountability across field teams

• Monitor project performance and keep ownership informed of progress, challenges, and solutions

• Take increasing responsibility for multiple projects as the company continues to grow

Ideal Candidate

• Strong experience managing significant commercial construction projects, ideally with a general contractor

• Proven ability to independently lead complex, multimillion-dollar construction projects

• Expert ability to read, interpret, and work from construction plans and specifications

• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, subcontractor coordination, contracts, and project execution

• Experience with industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, or design-build projects is highly preferred

• Demonstrated ability to oversee field teams and hold people accountable

• Excellent judgment, problem-solving skills, and ability to anticipate challenges

• Strong leadership presence and communication skills

• Highly organized, decisive, and comfortable managing multiple high-value projects

• Entrepreneurial, hands-on mindset with a strong sense of ownership

• Able to operate independently and earn the confidence of company leadership

We're looking for someone who doesn't just manage construction projects—they own them, drive them, and can be trusted to deliver results.
