Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical units in Rockford, Illinois. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical conditions, including those requiring telemetry monitoring and post-operative orthopedic care. The successful candidate will be an integral part of an interdisciplinary team, dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

As a Medical Surgical / Telemetry RN, you will be responsible for utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Key responsibilities include medication administration, treatment execution, meticulous documentation, and developing individualized patient care plans. This position emphasizes critical thinking, patient safety, and continuous collaboration to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act.
• Document patient care accurately and comprehensively according to established standards of care.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care according to the patient's needs, as prescribed by Physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance initiatives.
• Utilize clinical expertise and provide guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
• Apply critical thinking skills in regards to patient safety and patient experience, and appropriately escalate concerns to the appropriate chain of command.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care Medical Surgical or Telemetry setting. (Number of years not specified.)
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; education verification is required.
• Ability to work in Rockford, Illinois.
