Job Details Location: HH251 – Raleigh, NC 27610 Position Type: Full Time Salary: $16.00 Hourly Shift: Any Category: Retail Responsibilities Perform all duties and performance requirements of a Customer Service Representative (CSR) as outlined in the CSR Job Description section of the Operations Policy, and Procedures Manual. Assist the Manager with recruiting and training new CSR candidates. Operate Point of Sale equipment, Credit/Debit card machines, Lottery, Lotto, ATMs, Fuel Dispensers and other equipment; handle paperwork transactions as necessary. Act as an ambassador for SBOC/Han‑Dee Hugo’s, supporting the company’s values and mission statement. Address customer complaints in a professional and timely manner; promote teamwork within the store. Use all equipment and produce required reports accurately. Be mentally and physically capable of immediately activating emergency controls and alarms; handle accidental spills, use fire extinguishers and emergency shut‑offs. Provide leadership for CSR’s and set a “Positive Customer Experience” tone both in the presence of the Store Manager and in their absence. Assist the Manager with completing store paperwork, scheduling, cash and inventory controls, and bank deposits. Assist in merchandising and stocking the store. Perform all tasks assigned to CSR’s and work all shifts. Report maintenance issues to the Manager. Assist with making bank deposits when required. Participate in all training meetings called by the Company. Maintain safe work environment, respond to safety issues, and promote a culture of safety. Ensure the store is clean and ready for inspection, including restrooms. Ensure employees perform upselling (suggestive selling) to optimize in‑store sales. Prevent employees from discussing pricing or pricing strategies with competitors or anyone outside the Company. Ensure compliance with vendor control policies and handle fuel surveys only in person at competitor locations. Ensure no warrants are signed or criminal proceedings initiated by an employee without direct approval of senior management. Ensure employees do not accept subpoenas or legal documents without notifying Corporate Offices. Verify surveillance cameras are working and recording at shift end. Ensure safety and security of all employees while on duty. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. Record of success as a Customer Service Representative at SBOC/Han‑Dee Hugo’s. Ability to read and interpret documents and department manuals. Ability to effectively and positively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers and other employees. Reading and writing comprehension of simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, discounts). Knowledge of cash and inventory control procedures and basic accounting functions. Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Some computer skills. Physical Demands The position requires long hours on all shifts, including days, nights, holidays and weekends; ability to stand and walk for majority of each shift; use of hands, reach, lift up to 10 lbs regularly, up to 25 lbs occasionally, and up to 50 lbs occasionally; good vision, eye‑hand coordination, and manual dexterity. Employees must be mentally and physically capable of performing emergency procedures and operating equipment such as the safe, ATM, POS, and other store equipment. Working Conditions Work is performed in a convenience store/gas station, car wash and restaurant environment. Employees frequently work in outdoor weather conditions and are exposed to wet and humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, cold, and heat. Noise level is usually moderate.
