A healthcare facility in Des Plaines, IL is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to provide expert pharmaceutical care on a contract basis. This role offers a dynamic 7-on, 7-off schedule with overnight hours, starting as soon as possible for a duration of at least 13 weeks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate order verification to ensure safe medication dispensing
- Supervise and provide guidance to pharmacy technicians
- Collaborate and consult with physicians and nurses regarding medication therapies
- Conduct pharmacokinetic assessments and monitor patient responses to optimize drug regimens
- Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for electronic health records and medication dispensing
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid pharmacist license with relevant state credentials
- Experience in hospital or clinical pharmacy settings preferred
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis medication dispensing system
- Strong knowledge of pharmacokinetics and clinical patient care
- Excellent communication and supervisory skills to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
