Financial Services BCM Leader

Opportunity As part of EY Information Security, this role focuses on ensuring EY’s client‑facing services, platforms, applications, and technology remain resilient, dependable, and aligned to client expectations for continuity and recovery. You will work within the Technology Assurance, Risk & Policy (TARP) function’s Business Continuity and Crisis Management (BCCM) team to design, maintain, and validate business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities that meet EY standards and client‑defined requirements. Key Responsibilities Direct and partner with client service account teams and EY Technology to develop, maintain, and validate business continuity and disaster recovery programs for EY services. Translate client‑defined requirements into clear execution expectations by assessing EY’s current recovery capabilities. Identify gaps, risks, or limitations and lead cross‑team efforts to define remediation strategies. Support and oversee the development of client‑specific Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs), and testing strategies that align with client requirements and BCCM policies. Consult with technology, risk, and operational teams to ensure continuity controls are implemented consistently and effectively across client‑supporting applications and services. Manage and track remediation activities, holding contributing teams accountable for delivery against agreed commitments. Drive delivery of agreed roadmaps and workstreams with a focus on execution, accountability, measurable outcomes, and deadlines in a fast‑paced, client‑driven environment. Leadership & Stakeholder Governance Set and communicate clear expectations for business continuity and disaster recovery outcomes by defining scope, timelines, quality standards, and deliverables. Coordinate activities across multiple teams to ensure end‑to‑end delivery of client‑specific continuity and resilience outcomes. Serve as the single point of accountability for execution of agreed remediation plans. Monitor progress, identify delivery risks or delays, intervene to course‑correct, and elevate blockers or competing priorities. Provide guidance, coaching, and subject‑matter direction to teams performing BC/DR activities. Transfer knowledge, frameworks, tools, and best practices to enable sustainable capability. Influence prioritization decisions across service lines and technology teams when continuity risks present material exposure. Elevate execution issues, resource constraints, and risk acceptance decisions to senior leaders. Operate effectively within a matrixed environment, balancing influence, collaboration, and constructive challenge without formal authority. Model inclusive, respectful leadership while maintaining firmness on risk, compliance, accountability, and delivery expectations. Lead strategic conversations with senior stakeholders to structure resilience issues, communicate risks, negotiate solutions, and drive alignment with BC/DR policies. Service Quality Ensure high‑quality delivery of services to senior stakeholders, reinforcing execution discipline and accountability for continuity outcomes. Maintain a client‑focused mindset, assessing risk through the lens of service reliability, engagement impact, and client confidence. Strategic Relationship Management Foster relationships with senior executive stakeholders, guiding teams to align mitigation strategies to client contractual requirements and tailoring risk mitigation to service line needs. Risk Management Coordinate with BCCM and technology teams to assess potential technology risks using the TARP methodology, directing execution of assessment and remediation activities. Identify opportunities to reduce business interruption risk arising from regulatory, industry, or operational change. Translate complex resiliency risks into specific activities and workstreams, assigning ownership and monitoring progress. Strategy Development and Execution Develop and implement a strategy for end‑to‑end BC/DR planning cycles, streamlining processes and embedding best practices. Lead strategic conversations to influence decisions, drive adoption of continuity practices, and secure commitment to remediation plans. Compliance Lead educational initiatives on business continuity and resiliency, providing formal training and guidance to reinforce expectations and compliance with EY’s BC planning tool, CL360. Training and Education Design and deliver training, guidance, and communications on business continuity best practices. Educate and influence teams on continuity practices through training sessions, written guidelines, and regular communications. Reporting Report regularly on technology risks to senior management, providing objective assessments of execution status, risks, impacts, and required decisions. Inclusivity Support an inclusive, flexible work environment where team members can challenge each other constructively while maintaining clear accountability for continuity outcomes. Associate Director Responsibilities Lead and govern stakeholder engagement related to client‑specific continuity outcomes. Manage and influence stakeholders at the PPEDD/PPMDD level, holding leaders accountable for delivery. Reinforce the BCCM vision, goals, and objectives by aligning projects and priorities. Develop a deep understanding of BC/DR capabilities supporting EY’s largest and most complex engagements. Provide recommendations to balance client expectations, EY policies, and operational feasibility. Operate independently while aligning with the BCCM Program Leader and broader governance structure. Translation of complex risks into actionable activities and workstreams. Experience implementing Business Impact Assessments (BIAs) and BC/DR processes using enterprise tools (e.g., CL360). Ability to educate teams on best practices through training and guidance. Commitment to fostering an inclusive, flexible working environment. Qualifications Experience in continuity, disaster recovery, IT risk management, or related disciplines in large, complex environments. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change in fast‑paced settings. Strong collaboration skills across cultures, regions, and disciplines. Sound judgment balancing EY risk standards with business impact and client commitments. Independent decision‑making within established policies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Required Experience 10+ years in IT, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, IT Risk Management, or similar roles, including cross‑functional delivery without direct reporting authority. Knowledge of frameworks such as ISO, COBIT, and unified compliance frameworks. Experience in governance, risk, and compliance for technology and service delivery across distributed teams. Demonstrated competence in road‑map delivery, milestone definition, progress tracking, reporting, and deadline management. Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related discipline, or equivalent experience. Relevant certifications such as BCI (AMBCI/MBCI) or DRII (CBCP). Proven communication with clients, vendors, and all levels of management, setting expectations and reinforcing accountability. Leadership, negotiation, and collaboration skills across dotted‑line teams. Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently while maintaining delivery discipline. Preferred Experience Knowledge of ISO 22301, ISO 27001/27002, ISO 31000 in an execution‑oversight context. Experience with enterprise BC tools (e.g., CL360) to direct consistent use and reporting. Background supporting large financial institutions or highly regulated clients. Understanding of EY Business and Service Line Risk Priorities. Ability to allocate risk mitigation resources relative to business resources (budget, people, time). Capability to define a resiliency strategy aligned with business priorities and hold teams accountable. Knowledge of economic and geopolitical risk factors affecting technology resiliency. Familiarity with international, regional, and country regulations on Business Continuity and Resiliency. Insight into external resiliency trends and standards to challenge and validate approaches. Experience with Power BI and other reporting/visualization tools. Working knowledge of Azure and AWS platforms to validate resilience controls.
