Physician Assistant

42nd Medical Group at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. Platinum Business Corporation is seeking a full‑time Physician Assistant to support the 42nd Medical Group. Key Responsibilities Provide a full range of Physician Assistant services in primary and specialty medical care within the limits of training and privileges granted by the Military Treatment Facility. Diagnose, treat, and counsel patients for routine, acute, chronic, and minor trauma conditions. Recognize and manage emergency conditions, prescribe medications and immunizations, and refer complex or serious cases to qualified medical personnel. Teach and provide educational lectures to staff, and participate in in‑service training. Promote preventive care and health maintenance, including annual physicals and patient education on healthy behaviors. Prescribe in accordance with approved treatment protocols and Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee‑approved medications. Identify medical problems, determine appropriate actions, and include referrals to physicians as needed. Perform specific diagnostic and therapeutic practices within scope of practice. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other staff to promote primary care services. Educate patients and family members on healthy regimens and wellness responsibility. Attend staff meetings for case discussion, continuing education, and quality improvement. Advise medical and dental staff on treatment of military personnel and aeromedical evacuation preparation, provide guidance to bioenvironmental engineering, public health, and physiological training teams. Provide occupational medicine support: determine exam frequency and scope, conduct supervisory placement, and periodic health exams, identify occupational hazards, notify agencies of occupational diseases or injuries, and investigate job‑related injuries or illnesses. Complete all administrative tasks associated with the clinical position accurately and in a timely manner. Qualifications Master’s degree from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC‑PA). Graduate from an accredited PA program; specialty PAs must complete residency or fellowship training of 12 months or more in a medical specialty program. Minimum of 24 months of experience as a Physician Assistant within the last 36 months. Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant. Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants (NCCPA). Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
