HVAC Technician – Franklin, VA Austin Industrial provides premier self‑perform maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to leading industrial companies across the U.S. We have served the oil, gas, chemical, food, agriculture, power, and manufacturing sectors for more than 60 years. Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and install HVAC equipment including refrigeration, air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, compressors, boilers, burners, fans, economizers, humidifiers, controls, and packaged units. Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems such as conveyors, presses, and other plant equipment. Read mechanical prints and diagrams, including HVAC system schematics. Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to troubleshoot and solve problems. Use power tools and heavy equipment as required. Complete maintenance records and manage continuous evaluation of maintenance program requirements. Additional duties as assigned. Physical Demands Must be able to sit, use hands, reach, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift or move up to 50 pounds. Requires steady vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work may involve exposure to noise, heat, cold, or low light conditions. Qualifications Minimum 5 years experience in an industrial manufacturing environment. Critical thinking and predictive maintenance skills. Experience troubleshooting mechanical and HVAC systems. Strong teamwork, cooperation, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity. Willingness to cross‑train and learn new technical skills. Comfortable using maintenance computer systems for work orders, inventory, and reporting. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid driver’s license. HVAC certification required. EPA Section 608 Universal Technician certification. 5+ years of supervisory experience and leadership skills. Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
