The EEG Technologist performs neurodiagnostic tests under general technical supervision, providing findings, results, and descriptive analysis in accordance with facility policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

• Clean and disinfect equipment following infection control policies.
• Perform all types of EEGs, including ambulatory, bedside, electrical cerebral silence, and standard lab EEGs.
• Document data in patient charts and lab files accurately.
• Explain tests and procedures to patients to ensure optimal results.
• Notify Neuroscience physician for grossly abnormal EEG tracings.
• Prepare patients for examinations and provide age-appropriate instructions.
• Troubleshoot equipment and arrange repair services as needed.

Required Education:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited EEG program (new graduates welcome) OR 2 years of hands-on EEG/EMU experience.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• BLS (American Heart Association).

Preferred Certifications & Licensure:

• American Board of Registration of EEG/EP Technologists (ABRET).
