IT Manager - SQL Database Administration (1138137)

Location Chicago, IL Salary $130,000.00 USD Annually - $170,000.00 USD Annually Description Our client is looking for a Database Manager with expertise in SQL or PostgreSQL. This is hybrid 3 days onsite in Downtown Chicago. Responsibilities Manages day-to-day activities of database administration staff in support of all databases for projects and production. Manages database department efforts in support of project teams, review and approve proposed changes by project teams to the logical database design and approve changes to Corporation’s databases. Contribute to decisions on personnel actions (hiring, promotions, terminations, etc.). Manages activities with other departments (e.g. information technology, unix administration, technical support, production automation, project office, etc.). Qualifications 3+ years of managing all areas of a database group including direct people management. 8+ years of SQL and/or PostgreSQL experience. In-depth knowledge of how database department fits into development lifecycle. Excellent communication skills, analytical abilities, strong judgement and management skills, and ability to work with customers, managers and staff.
