Sous Chef, Full Time Temporary, Day Shift

Job Summary:

Supervises and directs the department's cooking staff. Oversees food preparation and maintenance of kitchen equipment. Applies substantial knowledge of the job and experience to complete a wide range of activities with varying difficulty. Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Associate’s/Technical Degree in culinary arts or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Two years' relevant experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

• SERV Safe certification or equivalent: Preferred

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

• SERVSAFE OR FH-efoodcard: Required

Essential Functions:

• Oversees cooking staff and assists in food preparation.
• Prepares, garnishes, sanitizes, and meets regulatory requirements.
• Assists in food storage and ordering of food or supplies.
• Serves as a liaison with other hospital departments relating to food services.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
