Systems Administrator (Tallahassee, FL)

Job Title: Systems Administrator (MUST BE LOCAL) Job Location: Tallahassee, FL (on-site) Job Duration: 12 months+ Scope of Services: Systems Administrator to play a key role in assisting in the oversight, management, troubleshooting, and execution of cloud services and platforms to support infrastructure, applications, data, and other business needs. Duties may include adding and removing individuals from authorized users, archiving files, overseeing password protection and other security measures, monitoring usage of shared resources, designing, facilitating, leading, coordinating, and directing technology initiatives across infrastructure administration, application development, data management & analytics, cybersecurity, external hosting, identity and access management, network security hardening, privacy, compliance, and Microsoft 365 environments and other Microsoft platforms. The position requires working on medium to high complexity projects, providing daily operations support, maintenance, and administration for servers, and owning complex issues to support business. Job Duties Support and expand infrastructure. Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple parties. Make recommendations for future server and software upgrades. Monitor systems and applications to ensure security, availability, and performance. Evaluate network performance issues, selecting, installing, configuring, and testing equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls. Maintain network and systems performance through monitoring, analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and escalating to vendors. Build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment. Refactor solutions for better performance, cost, and efficiency. Create and manage Azure DevOps projects, git repositories, and pipelines. Oversee and configure Azure DevOps organizational settings. Recommend and assist with building and hosting complex application solutions. Understand, deploy, and manage AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or other cloud services. Support other IT staff, including developers. Other duties as assigned. Experience Bachelor's Degree or technical institute degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. 2 - 3 years experience with: Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022. 2 - 3 years IIS Administration. 2 - 3 years of network communications, including TCP/IP and DNS Samba/CIFS file sharing and NTFS permissions. 2 - 3 years of strong professional experience in AWS cloud systems is required. 2 - 3 years of strong professional experience in Microsoft Azure cloud systems is highly desired. 2 - 3 years of experience with other cloud providers, such as GCP, is highly desired. 2 - 3 years of professional experience in the administration of Microsoft software is highly desired. 3 - 5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration. 3 - 5 years of professional experience supporting middleware such as API Management, IT Service Automation tools, and batch job services is highly desired. 5 - 8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or a related field is required. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems effectively regardless of technology platform. Ability to document and automate administrative tasks to reduce manual work. Proficiency in working in a fast-paced, complex, and dynamic business environment. Proficiency in networking principles and cloud-based network architectures. In-depth knowledge of AWS Services. Proficiency in Microsoft Azure Services. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Server products. In-depth knowledge of Linux (Redhat and Ubuntu). Strong grasp of IT infrastructure and application development technology and architectures. Strong grasp of Linux administration, including Linux patching. Knowledge of assessment and analytical processes and practices. Skill in strategic planning. Skill in researching, compiling, and analyzing data to report findings and develop improvement solutions. Skill in system administration and hosting across a wide range of solutions. Ability to research, identify, and implement innovative solutions.
