What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities) Lead & Mentor a Large Team: Direct and develop an extended team of ~30+ direct and indirect reports (including 2 Quality Supervisors, Leads, and Inspectors). Drive career pathing, succession planning, and a supportive, growth‑oriented culture. Oversee a Global Supply Network: Manage quality strategy and risk mitigation across a matrix of 1,000+ domestic and international suppliers using advanced auditing, part qualification, and SCAR/CAPA processes. Drive APQP & PPAP: Implement Advanced Product Quality Planning and tailored Production Part Approval Processes to ensure seamless new product introductions (NPI) and risk‑free supply flow. Elevate Receiving Inspection: Own receiving inspection throughput, backlog management, and technology integration. Coach teams on applying sampling tables and inspection criteria as an extension of part qualification. Be the Face of Quality: Serve as a trusted technical contact for dynamic, fast‑paced customer engagements. Build rapid rapport, instill confidence, and communicate complex quality metrics with clarity. Audit & Compliance Management: Oversee the annual supplier audit program, schedule audits, and ensure 100% compliance with strict medical device regulatory standards using fully digital database systems. What We Are Looking For (Qualifications) Must-Haves: Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of Supplier Quality experience , including at least 3–5 years in a progressive management/leadership role (proven experience managing other leaders/supervisors is critical). Medical Device Rigor: Hands‑on experience operating under ISO 13485 standards with Class II or Class III medical devices . You must be able to explain why these regulations matter from a broader business perspective. People‑First Leadership: A strong track record of team development, employee retention, and cultural transformation. Superior Communication: High‑level verbal and written communication skills suitable for high‑stakes customer interactions and clear, auditor‑ready documentation. Technical Quality Acumen: Deep familiarity with Non‑Conformances (NCs), CAPAs, SCARs, and root‑cause analysis in an all‑electronic QMS environment. Logistics: Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder available to work onsite Monday through Friday. Willingness to travel up to 30–40% (domestic and international) for supplier audits. Nice‑to‑Haves / Preferred: Cross-industry quality exposure (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, FDA GMP). Lead Auditor certification/experience. Formal Quality Certifications: CQM, CQE, or CSQP . Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
